Input tax credit on lease rent paid to a car leasing company

21 September 2013 My company's M.D. want to lease a car from an operating lease company.

I want to know whether the service tax on lease rent paid by my company on car leasing can be taken as input tax credit ?

22 September 2013 Input does not include Motor Vehicle.

Input service excludes service of renting the vehicle.

In view of the above the service tax paid on the operating lease is not eligible for CENVAT
