kindly enlighten me with the term industrial training as this is just a word because we just cant find anything regarding CA industrial training except that it is done only in the last 9 -12 months of your articleship period .
as per icai norms.
but what after that ..
where are the industries?

1. there are many companies that offer vacancy for industrial training. the list includes banks such as city bank, SCB, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Goldman Sach; Mutual funds, insurance companies; manufacturing companies like, Ceat, Reliance Industries etc. So on and on.
2. Often such companies come up with open notification for industrial training vacancies. You can check such notices at ICAI regional and branch office websites.
Such vacancies are also posted at caclubindia and websites like
Another source is your direct contacts with the corporate world. For eg, I did my industrial training with Ernst & Young through direct application.
3. What after that? Once you are in, it is for you to derive maximum benefit out of it. It is a very good opportunity to acquaint yourself with the corporate world and do networking. It increases your chance of being retained by the company. Thus it also helps in securing job post qualification.

Rather than hiring MBA's as trainees, Companies are now hiring CA's as Trainees. And this form of Training is recognised by ICAI and is counted as a part of Articleship Training. This form is training is referred to as Industrial Training.
However, this form of Training can be pursued only in the last of year of Articleship.The minimum time duration for the same is 9 months and the mximum being 12 months.
To avail Industrial Training, a student has to submit Form 104 with ICAI and on satisfactory completion of the Training,member under whom the industrial training is received shall issue a certificate in Form No.105 in respect of the training undergone.

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING Industrial training is a training scheme by which a student can undergo practical training within an industrial undertaking having specified amount of fixed assets or turnover or paid-up share capital. Industrial training can be commenced during the last one year of articleship. Industrial training can be performed in financial, commercial, industrial undertakings with minimum fixed assets of Rs.1 crore; or minimum total turnover of Rs. 10 crore; or minimum paid–up share capital of Rs. 50 lakhs; or such other institutions or organization as may be approved by the Council from time to time. The period of industrial training may range between 9 months and one year. The industrial training shall be received under the member of the Institute. An associate who has been a member for a continuous period of at least 3 years shall be entitled to train one industrial trainee at a time and a fellow shall be entitled to train two industrial trainees at a time. There should be an agreement of industrial training in Form No.104. On satisfactory completion of industrial training by an articled/audit assistant, the associate/fellow member under whom the industrial training is received shall issue a certificate in Form No.105 in respect of the training undergone. It is required to maintain details of work undertaken and training received in the prescribed format.
