03 June 2010 If Mr X who working in retail shop and receving salary in cash of Rs. 20,000/- p.m.. Without tds certificate (Form 16).

Please advise me how he can claim deduction while filing his individual return

03 June 2010 Obviously, the retail shop owner won't be giving you TDS certificate, as he has defaulted in deducting TDS. Ask him to give a certificate on a letter head, duly stamped and signed. On that basis you can file your return. Any deductions can be claimed if you have proof of payment.

06 June 2010 If as per above expert advice Mr X return is filed with support of certification on letter head of retail employer then is there could be any problem for employer for non deduction of tax

Please give me your valuable advice


22 June 2010 SECTON40(ia) IS NOT APPLICABLE IN CASE OF SALARY PAYMENT.
