I became an NRI from this year. Do I need to mention it anywhere for the government to know? Specially ITR as I will have no income from India

If you file your ITR in India, then you have to choose your residential Status, according to which your tax liabilities will be accessed. Pls, note that in the case of Resident and ordinary resident Income Generated Outside India is also Taxable in India subject to double taxation agreements.
