21 December 2013 CAN I FILE RETURN I.T. RETURN FOR F.Y.11-12 NOW AND IF YES UNDER WHICH SECTION..??

AND I DOWNLOAD THE FORM FORM SITE BUT IT SHOWS SUMTHING LIKE COMPILER ERROR FOR THAT YEAR FORM..??

PLEASE HELP SENIORS..

21 December 2013 For FY 11-12 AY is 12-13 the last date is 31.3.2014 so still u have time to file roi.

on dept website u can download applicable itr for AY 12-13.

21 December 2013 Yes you can file return upto 31.03.2014 but a Penalty of Rs 5000 may be levied u/s 271F.

Section 271F says---

If a person who is required to furnish a return of his income, as required under sub-section (1) of section 139 or by the provisos to that sub-section, fails to furnish such return before the end of the relevant assessment year, the Assessing Officer may direct that such person shall pay, by way of penalty, a sum of five thousand rupees.

21 December 2013 The penalty mentioned is at the discretion of AO but if he is satisfied that there were genuine reasons for not filing return time u/s 139(1) then AO may not impose such penalty.

22 December 2013 Alternatively try using Excel 2007 or Use Windows XP ( SP3 )/ Windows Vista/Windows 7
