29 July 2013 Dear Experts,

MY friend'S Basic + DA Salary =96000/- p.A.
Other Allowance =1,84,000/-p.A
total Gross Income =2,80,000/-P.A.
He is not received any amount A/C of HRA But he is paid Rs.50,000/- as a house rent P.A.
Kindle suggest me that , can he claim deduction of HRA from his income if yes what is the amount he can deduction (leaving in non metro area)

29 July 2013 Since the salary not having HRA portion, he cannot claim HRA exemption u/s.10(13A), But He is eligible to claim Rent deduction u/s.80GG subject to maximum of Rs.2000 per month and Rs.24000 per annum as rent
