18 February 2017 Hi Dear friends and experts,

I have recently got offer from Accenture for CFM analyst role.I just wanted to know from you all whether its a good platform to take off my career.I have offer from mid size audit firm also but pay wise there is a gap of 10k per month between two jobs.Your quick response will be of great help. Many thanks in advance.

18 February 2017 Hi, you should go ahead and accept the Accenture offer. CFM Analyst is a Business Finance role which involves revenue forecasting and FP&A.

19 February 2017 Sir,

As a fresher lot of us are in a dilemma whether to opt for job or practice. Firstly, look out for your immediate financial needs say around 3-5 year period. It is imperative to identify whether you want to work for a corporate or wish to get into practice at some point in time. If getting into a corporate check what would be the nature of work involved and growth prospects in the company which your going to work for. See whether the job which you do is not mundane and there is absolutely not much application of mind. The term analyst may be jazzy in many corporate but if your not doing any analysis, it is not worth exploring such an option.

Ultimately, it is the work which you get that should keep you occupied and permit you to learn lot of new things and not some automated templates doing work on your behalf. Think about it and take a right call which is going to benefit you in the long run. Don't take short routes for short term gains. rather think of realistic routes that can enrich your knowledge and equip you to take a leap in your career.

All the very best sir.

19 February 2017 Sir I sincerely thank you for your response. Is it possible to come out after 1 or two years? Will industry consider such experience? In anticipation of your response. Thanks a lot.

19 February 2017 If you continue in the same business vertical or corporate structure it may be considered as an experience. Let us say, tomorrow after having worked in Accenture as a CFM Analyst for a year or two, later you intend to join let us say some Indian company in it's Accounts and Finance Division. Then, in such a scenario, your experience of Accenture may not be considered holistically and you may have to settle down to something lesser than your previous employer.
On the other hand, let's assume you get an offer from Goldman Sachs or Thomson Reuters where they are looking for candidates with profiles of your type, you may get incremental value.

Do not think of any company or organization for such a short term, you will never do justice to your own self or to the company which hires you.

The above fact is shared based on interaction with my known source of people and bit of my own. You take a measured decision what you want to achieve in medium to long term and accordingly pace your career. There is a threat looming large for several years now that the Outsourcing industry may shut shop in India, there is nothing of such mass gravity happened till now, but it depends on global economic situations as it keeps evolving.

Would suggest you to talk to your Ops Manager and HR Manager including Operations Head @ Accenture before accepting your offer letter, about your role and responsibilities the company intends to offer and what is expected out from you. Let there be clarity in terms of your presence in the Organization fold and what is going to help you in your career from medium to long term.

20 February 2017 Sir Thank you sooo much for your time and efforts in replying to me.I will try to speak with hr as suggested by you before proceeding further on this.Thank you once again.

20 February 2017 You are most welcome sir and we are closing your query as resolved.
