07 February 2016 Hi Mukund,
I guess Ankur has misinterpreted your question which relates to your further study at ISB (Indian School of Business).
First of all, please let me know what program are you considering to pursue from ISB. ISB offers typically 3 programs for experienced.
1. PGP: This is a program meant to groom you for higher positions in Management. This will probably jump start your career with a placement directly in upper middle management, if you have relevant prior experience. The basic drawback with CA course is that it does not prepare us to take higher management roles immediately after graduating. Also the quality of articleship in firms (except for top tiered fims) also, is not comparable to its western counterparts (CPA/ ICAEW etc) . The curriculum at ISB, unlike most of us think, is not limited to Finance and Accounts but it gives higher emphasis on Macro Management Perspective, Economics and Business Studies. More importantly, it exposes you the live business cases which is unfortunately not taught in CA course.
2. PGPMAX: This is commonly known as the Executive MBA and comes with high price tag. Also, it requires minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. This is an ideal course for those who have good experience in middle level management and want to move to the next level quickly. The curriculum would be similar to the PGP but fast tracked adding decision making and strategy as core subjects. Its a rigorous program and demands high level of commitment.
3. FPM: The fellow program in management is a PhD level program designed and built for Academic expertise and research orientation. The program is highly rigorous and takes 5 years to complete. For the first two years you will be exposed to multiple areas like Finance, Economics, Organisation Behavior, Marketing and OR. Third year onward, you would be working on your thesis. The sky is the limit after completing the program where you can choose to be an academician or go into industry as a researcher in any areas of Finance.

Sadly, there are very few CAs who think of an MBA (I suggest only from top institutions) as an addition to their profile. It opens the doors not only to higher roles in Finance, but also in Strategy, Operations etc.
The above answer is based on the interaction with CA+ISB MBAs in my organisation. I know CAs who were Finance Managers before an ISB MBA and became GM/ VP of Strategy/ Finance/ Operations after ISB MBA.

08 February 2016 Thank You Shashank for your detailed reply. Thanks Ankur garg.I am also doing some research regarding this(ISB-PGB,IIMA-PGPEX,IIMB-EPGB).

But I am worried about my profile.I am not a rank holder to get in to these institiutions. Can any other course like ACCA will add some advantage to my profile in perview of ISB.

Thanks....

08 February 2016 You do not have to be a rank holder for studying in these institutions. These institutes have their own selection criteria. For any Executive MBA program, the institutions would see your work experience and GMAT/ CAT score. 700-730 in GMAT or 90th percentile in CAT are good scores to make your application strong. But most importantly, the quality of work experience is something in which they would be interested. For executive programs you need to have good number of work experience, specially in the case of ISB which requires 10 years experience.
If you go for normal programs like PGP (MBA) the competition would be higher. It does not require any work-ex and hence you will find lot of fresh engineering graduates competing. CAT scores should be in high 90th percentile (probably 95% or more, typically 97%+) to get into one of the IIMs.

15 February 2016 ISB PGP requires Avg of 4 years experience.I heve that experience. But I want to know what makes my profile stronger to get it in to ISB
