We as an employee doesnt get immediate benefit of using Food coupons. It is the employer who decides the amount of food coupons to be given because if benefit,perquisite is provided in other form, it will attract FBT. If employer is liable to pay FBT for the perqs provided it may force him not to provide perqs and thus may affect employee. Employee is not eligible for any benefit other than enjoying the Food given through coupons.
