07 July 2024 I understand your frustration and concerns regarding the challenges faced by students in the CA Final exams, especially in papers like SFM (Strategic Financial Management). It can indeed be disheartening when the exam does not align with expectations or when there are difficulties in transitioning between syllabuses.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) periodically updates its syllabus to keep pace with evolving industry requirements and global standards. However, transitions between syllabuses can sometimes create challenges for students who were preparing under older syllabuses.

Here are a few points to consider:

1. **Transitional Challenges**: It's common for students transitioning between syllabuses to face difficulties, as exam patterns and syllabus content can vary significantly.

2. **Support and Guidance**: It's important to seek support and guidance from experienced mentors, teachers, or coaching institutes who can help navigate these challenges effectively.

3. **Appeal to ICAI**: If you believe there are systemic issues affecting many students, it may be worthwhile to collectively voice concerns through student bodies or directly to ICAI. Constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement can often lead to positive changes.

4. **Personal Preparation**: Despite external challenges, focusing on thorough preparation and understanding of the syllabus can enhance your chances of success. Utilize past papers, mock exams, and other resources to familiarize yourself with the exam format and expectations.

Regarding your suggestion for providing one more attempt to old course students, it's a valid concern. However, exam schedules and policies are typically decided by ICAI. If you feel strongly about this, you could consider reaching out to ICAI directly through their official channels to express your views.

In the meantime, stay focused on your studies and continue to prepare diligently. Many students have successfully navigated through similar challenges, and with perseverance and the right support, you can too.
