Can special resolution for variation of a particular class of shares under section 48 of Companies Act 2013 be passed in AGM or is a separate meeting of members of that class is required?

According to section 48 of Companies Act 2013, where share capital of Company is divided into shares, the rights attached to the shares may be varried with consent in writing of members holding atleast 75% of issued shares of that class or by special resolution passed at the seprate meeting of the holders of the issued shares of that class

Sir my query is that since AGM is meeting of members only , so can special resolution be passed in AGM?

Yes, special Resolution can be passed in AGM provided special notice shall be given to move such resolution shall be given by members to the Company
