15 December 2012 Please post an insight regarding Few copyright law related issues listed below:

1. How many changes are required in an image taken from internet or any source to avoid copyright infringement?

2. Can a teacher show a YouTube video related to the lesson in the classroom/computer room?

3. If any image taken from the internet has to be used as it is (e.g. historical images, circuit diagrams, machinery parts, etc.) or ‘in verbatim’, does it lead to copyright infringement? How to avoid copyright in such cases?

4. Can we take research reports from Govt. websites without taking permission?

5. How much duration of a video can be taken from websites without copyright violation?

6. Does ‘Fair Deal’ policy under sec 52 of the copyright act allows use of a video for educational purposes (for FIITJEE Global School)?

7. If we need a video/image/content which is copyrighted, how should we seek permission for its use and whom should we consult?

8. By changing the words/grammar of a textual content, can we avoid copyright issues?

9. Does acknowledgement of source(s) help escape copyright violation?

10. Do the uses of images/videos/text taken from government websites create copyright infringement?
