30 July 2012 I am getting around 34,000/- per month as interest on fixed deposits
I am paying rent of Rs 27,000/- per month and incurring around 60,000/- towards medicines per year. Please tell me how much income tax saving I am entitled to.

30 July 2012 Interest on Fixed deposits is fully taxable, and for paymnet of rent you can claim HRA deduction if u r salaried person or can claim deduction for payment of rent u/s 80GG. u cannot take benefits of expenses on medicines.ok

26 September 2012 Dear Annonymous u can take upto Rs. 15000 medical bill exemption also, if you are receiving medical allowances .
