This query is : Resolved

31 October 2012 Guyz,
I want to ask that is there any kind of exemption from CS papers after completing my CA Final.

Also tell me if there is any exemption while I am still doing my CA Final.

04 November 2012 No exemption in cs based on passing ca., only the most you can be exempted from appearing for cs foundation upon passing ca final exams

06 November 2012 Is that it .?? That I will be exempted just after m graduation.
Hey buddy, I am presently in the final year of my graduation from regular du college and have cleared IPCC . I still have six months in hand for my graduation to be completed. If I join CS, I Will have to start after my graduation result I.e. probably July 13 and if I go for CWA, I can start now on as I am exempted from its foundation after my IPCC. What do you suggest??

21 July 2024 Here's a breakdown of your queries regarding exemptions in the Company Secretary (CS) and Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) courses:

### Exemptions after Completing CA Final:
1. **CS Exemptions**: If you have completed your CA Final exams, you may be eligible for exemptions in CS papers based on the mutual recognition agreement between ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) and ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India). Typically, CA Final passed students are eligible for exemption from certain CS papers, usually from the Foundation and Executive level papers. You would need to check the latest exemptions granted by ICSI at the time you apply.

2. **CMA Exemptions**: Similarly, completing CA Final may also entitle you to exemptions in the CMA (Cost and Management Accountant) course. Exemptions are granted based on the subjects you have cleared in CA Final.

### Exemptions while Doing CA Final:
1. **CS Exemptions**: While you are still pursuing CA Final and considering starting CS after graduation, you can benefit from exemptions in the CS Foundation level if you have cleared IPCC. However, exemptions from Executive or Professional level papers of CS are typically granted only after completing CA Final and meeting the specific criteria set by ICSI.

2. **CMA Exemptions**: Since you are already exempted from the CMA Foundation after IPCC, you can start pursuing the CMA course immediately and continue concurrently with your CA Final preparations.

### Timing and Course Selection:
- **CS after Graduation**: If you plan to start CS after graduation, you will be eligible for exemptions based on your CA Final results. Starting CS after graduation allows you to focus solely on completing your CA Final exams without additional study burden.

- **CMA now**: Starting CMA now gives you an opportunity to dual-qualify sooner. You can complete the CMA Foundation and move to the Intermediate level while concurrently preparing for your CA Final exams. This approach spreads out your workload and allows you to gain additional qualifications in parallel.

### Recommendation:
Given your current situation and the options available:
- **If your primary focus is on completing CA Final**: It may be beneficial to start CS after graduation to minimize study load and focus on clearing CA Final exams first. You can then pursue CS with exemptions based on your CA Final results.

- **If you prefer to diversify your qualifications**: Starting CMA now allows you to gain additional credentials while preparing for CA Final. This approach can broaden your skill set and career opportunities.

Ultimately, the decision should align with your career goals, study preferences, and ability to manage multiple qualifications simultaneously. Consider consulting with mentors or career advisors who can provide personalized guidance based on your aspirations and circumstances.
