Excise rc surrender

03 March 2016 My client is registered with central excise before one year, but returns are not filed as excise was not actually applicable to him. Can we surrender Central excise RC without filing returns?

You have to file the excise returns before surrendering the rc.
And a penalty of Rs. 5000/- per return will attract.
