01 December 2010 Tell me credit note and debit note in case of excise is a reliable document or not can we raise it or not

04 December 2010 You can always raise it, there is no bar in excise law from raising debit or credit note.
However, consideration received based on such notes is part of excise value, and duty is required to be paid. But, based on such notes the buyer will not be able to take credit. Thus if duty is required to be paid, supplementary invoice is better on which buyer can take credit.
