19 April 2012 Hello All Experts

I have a query & hope i will find a right answer to that. I want to create a message box in excel 2007 where i can fix fix a cell with particular amount.

Means, if the amount in that particular cell increase by particular limit then a message displays automatically for the warning that the amount is increasing beyond limit.

e.g Cell A1 fix with rs. 5000/- . When A1 icrease to 5001/- then the message automaticaly displays " Amoount is beyond limit".

Can anybody help me out in this.

19 April 2012 You can use conditional formating tools whereby you can define different rules. Suppose if you want certain cells to be in yellow colour if amount exceeds 5000 then you can do it.

Conditional Formating - press f1 and type conditional formating - you would get how to use the same.

Thanks

19 April 2012 Yes. One way is conditional formatting. Another way is put a formula next to that cell like =if(cell reference>5000,"Beyond Limit,0)
Then whenever u put an amount, a message will be displayed.
