Esi contribution- deduction claimed

I would like to know, can contribution to ESI be claimed as deduction under Chapter-VI (Sec 80C to Sec 80 U of Income Tax Act 1961.

08 September 2013 ESI contribution by employer is basically exempted, so it is not eligible for deduction u/s.80C. and employee contribution to ESI also not eligible for deduction u/s.80C
