If any employees salary is Rs.10,000 or less he has to be complossority covered under ESI act. Provided the no.of employees in that company should be 20 or more.
Employer has to pay 4.75% of the salary & Employee has to pay 1.75% of the salary to the ESI department on monhtly.
Benifits: If any accidents takes place during the working hours, he can be admitted in the ESI hospital and the entire treatment cost will be Nil. He and his family can get the treatment from ESI without any cost. When he is sick he can claim some portions of salary from ESI ( i think its 60% of the salary)
These all are some of the benifits for the employees. For employers it is a staff welfare measures.
