is it mandatory for company to make e-payment of taxes online (Tds)?

any notification ? what will be the consequences if tds paid by cheque by company?

kindly advise & provide link of notification if possible.

09 June 2011 It is not mandatory to make payment through online you can made payment through cheque at the counter of the authorized Bank.
