Income tax department has made efiling mandatory for all tax audit cases from AY 2010-11. What would be the consequence if the same is manually filed by the assessee.

It is being mandatory from AY2011-12 and not from AY2010-11. If it is filed manually then according to me it will be treated as defective return u/s 139(9) and will be treated as it was never filed.

Hi, If the case in of individual assessee than for A.Y 10 -11 Department may accept the Return .as same is being mandatory from AY 2011-12 and not from AY2010-11. Department will not accept the same for Companyfor 10 11 and A. Y 11 -12 for any assessee . Even If it is filed manually then according to me it same will be treated as defective return u/s 139(9) and void retrun never filled withe department .
