Mr Author, There will be a legally accepted format of a delivery note in all vat laws e.g.form vat 505 in Karnataka. Like wise,there will be an officially issued or approved(even electronically)form to be filled and issued in duplicate along with a xerox copy of the same and your delivery challan in Mahrashtra also.A copy of the letter or order sent by your customer also can be attached.Then,on the way the check posts would retain one copy each in Maharashtra and Karnataka, and the goods will reach the customer.Pl find out from your vat office.Later,on acceptance by your customer, you maay issue an invoice.
