Difference between contract and work contract

11 October 2015 Our management use to deduct two type of TDS one is TDS on Contract and other is TDS on Work Contract, both are deducted @ 2%. I want to know what is the difference between the TDS on Contract and TDS on Work Contract. Please Reply.

11 October 2015 Both are same as far as TDS (Income Tax) is concerned. Both deducted u/s 194C.

If you are asking about STDS then that's different. STDS is Sales Tax Deducted at Source.
