If in case of pvt. ltd. company the construction of building is completed on Jan 2015 and building is given on rent on Dec 2015, then as per companies act do we have to provide depreciation from Jan 2015 or when we have first given building on rent i.e. Dec 2015.

But completion has taken place in Jan 2015 and it is given on rent in Dec 2015. Then do we have to provide depreciation under companies act from Jan 2015 or from Dec 2015. Again do we have to provide depreciation as per companies act if the building is vacant since completion and not given on rent till date.
