Deemed let out residential flat

19 May 2016 A residential apartment was registered on 30 Nov 2015 and possession was taken same day (wife and husband jointly owned). It took about four months to do the interiors and so could not be let out during the FY 2015-16. How to declare it as the person already has another residential flat owned (Husband and wife jointly owned and self occupied). If both are owned jointly can each of them.. husband and wife claim for own use both the flats in their individual income tax returns separately?.

20 May 2016 both have to show their portion in its return.

21 May 2016 Thanks for your reply. Both have to declare it in their respective income tax returns as deemed income for the period it was available to be let out (Feb & Mar 2016)?
