13 February 2011 is their any deduction available from gross income in case of medical expenses made for the treatment of the wife in the previous year?

14 February 2011 No such exemption available in Income TaX. bUT IF YOu are salaries employee and your package include reimburesement of Mediacal expenses by the Employer ypur employer will give you deduction of 15000/- subject to production of Bill.

in case of assessee having his own business, can he avail deduction u/s 80DDB for incurring medical expenses of his wife for cancer treatment?
