25 February 2012 Please suggest regarding that:

a. If spouse is paying LIC of her husband of Rs. 15,000.00. Can Spouse claim deduction u/s 80C in her return.

b. If Mr. X is paying his LIC of Rs. 15,000.00. Can Spouse claim deduction u/s 80C while Mr. X is not availing deduction for same.

25 February 2012 LIC premium paid for Own, spouse and children can be taken deduction u/s.80C.

a. yes. Spouse can take deduction, since she paid premium for husband

b.No. Only those actually made the payment only can take deduction
