I have a query regarding 80C
my friend purchased a open plot in Pirangut ( pune) He has already paid the registrtion charges for that open plot registartion. Can he claim that regestration amount Under Section 80c.

Please give the exact advice to my friend.

01 February 2011 Deduction u/s 80C is allowed for registration charges if such charges are incurred for the purpose of transfer of residential house property.

Since in you case it is incurred on land, it will not be allowed.
