dear, if you are bringing in old & used car then you have to pay duty according to baggage Rules and if bringing in new car, then appropriate customs duty has to be paid. there is no bar in further selling the car if you have not paid concessional Customs duty under some conditions. if you pay customs duty at concessional rate and then transfer the car in another persons' name you will have to pay the duty along with interest and penalty.in my opinion there should not be any bar in using the imported car as taxi as you have to get the car registered under local DTO laws as are applicable.Yes, total duty has to be calculated after taking into insurance, freight etc. in the assessable value.
