28 December 2011 Dear Sir/Mam,

Is it compulsory to file CST return in case dealer has No interstate sales, but has interstate purchases & CST registration Number??????

Also Can you pls provide Notification/ Circular as the case may be related to the same.

28 December 2011 It is state specific. In case of Maharashtra there is a circular where if the dealer is not making any interstate sales then, there is no need to file CST return and has to file only VAT return.

In other states, CST Return is mandatory to file even if there are no transactions effected.
