07 October 2013 Dear Experts. My query is on pf esi and ptax deduction for labours provided on contract basis.Who is liable to deduct and pay??Provided labours are paid based on day rate.

10 October 2013 contractor is liable to pay dues like pf and esi. However he is eligible to charge the same on monthly basis from the company.

As a principal employer company is liable for all the compliances done by the contractor.
