17 October 2014 My uncle has received a letter from IT department Compliance Cell. He is a salaried employee earning more than Rs. 500000/- in A/Y 2011-12 but he didn't file return of income due to negligence. Now what is the remedy available to him??

17 October 2014 he can respond to the letter stating that the return is under preparation and file the manual return with the AO alongwith a letter for condonation of delay under section 119(2)
