company secretary training exemption

This query is : Resolved

01 September 2010 I have recently completed my company secretary. Since I am presently employed in Govt job with bond of 20 years of Service as Class I Gazetted officer in Indian Air Force, I cannot undergo training. Kindly, advice how should i seek exemption and will it affect my ability to take on company secretary job after 9-10 years (since it will take time to leave this job as per terms of engagement). Iam BCOM, MBA (Ist Year completed). I am employed since Jun 2001.

03 September 2010 hi again...as per my opinion u cant get exmption as i guess u must b mostly working in ATC (non tech) ....if ur working in Logistics then u might claim ur experience but at the end of the day its not the designation which matters but ur knowledge in the domain.....u can go through the link below for better understanding of the same....

....in my opinion u can increase ur knowledge by the time u retire.....think bout wat else u can do apart 4m Bcom+ CS + MBA....as u cant do CA (4 d same reason that we guys in defence cant go 4 articleship)....u can think of CWA and then CIMA(UK) or may be ICSA(UK) ...u will get exemption too.....i am planning to do CFA(US) and i am due to retire in 2014....bye now

05 September 2010 Your problem is quite serious. I think exemption from training is a bit difficult.

Have a chat with ICSI officials or visit ICSI personally.

All the Best
