08 April 2012 Hi Meghana,

You are the only person who can decide whether you need coaching or you can pass on your own. Because, it all depend on your intelligence and knowledge. My suggestion is that first you go through the question papers, suggested answers which are available at institute office then i guess you can decide what to do next.

Wish you good luck.

10 April 2012 See, CPT has become a multiple choice based entrance exam. If YOU decide to rely on self studies, you will need an extra bit of conceptual clarity on each topic. I think that if you have studied your B.Com. syllabus well and honestly, it will help you a lot in preparing for CPT exams.
By the way, study material and model questions provided by the ICAI is well designed and described. Refer to the question papers of previous exams and try to solve the questions asked on TOPICS which you have already studied in B.Com. or 10+2.

Assess yourself. You are the best judge to judge yourself. Your confidence can easily melt CPT.

Note: These are entirely my personal thoughts. I joined CA after 10+2 and never took tuitions for any subject of CA except maths and stats in CPT (Foundation).
