Change in Pan Card

08 April 2009 Hi,

I want to file IT return for PY 2008-2009 for my wife. We got married in Feb 2009. I need to know if the same will now be filed in her old name before marriage or with a changed name after marriage ( Surname was changed post marriage ).

Her PAN card is bearing the old name.

08 April 2009 First you will have to change her pan card to married name bearing the same pan no. as also the address.

then you file the return in her married name.
