IS THIS IS NECCESSARY FOR SERVICE RECEIVER BEFORE TAKING CREDIT OF INPUT SERVICE TO COLLECT THE COPY OF CHALLAN FROM SERVICE PROVIDER

No, there is no such requirement to collect service tax payment challan from the service provider for availing credit on the input service invoices. However, at the time of availing credit all the conditions required for availing credit as precribed under Cenvat Credit Rules, 2004 are complied with.
