Cenvat credit in works contract

Respected sir/madam
please guide me in a specific case where a main contractor pays s.tax @4.944( abatement 60 & 40 ) and sub contractor for the same work also pays s.tax @4.944% than the main contractor can take benifit of cenvat credit of s.tax paid by sub contractor ???

Main contractor is paying service tax then no need to pay service tax to sub-contractor.
