Can anyone please guide me regarding how to check the status of a agriculture land regarding rural or urban i.e.
1) how to find which municipalities etc. are nearest one
2) jurisdictional area of these municipalities
3) calulation of distance of 8 kms. from that municipality
In my case land used for agriculture purpose in Kahnaur, Haryana is sold by the assessee. Can anyone please tell me above answers regarding the same. One of the nearest municipal committee known by me is Kalanaur, I dont know whether some other Municipality, municipal committee, town committee etc. nearer than that.
In my view you just check whether the land which is sold is within 8 kms of any municipality. If it is within 8 kms then it is urban land and capital gains will be applicable on that.You may ask the local people over there or if it is a village then consult the Mukiya i.e. head of village over there.
