how much money can be assumed as a capital expenditure when a fixed asset is purchased and installed in a company???

Value of machine and all expenses to make it ready to use.
Excise or other duty which are refundable/cenvatable will be excluded from this. even trial production can be capitalised.
So you can say
purchase value+ Freight+ tax which are not creditable + installation charges + trial production
