I m a student pursuing bcom hns (2 yr). I want to do CA .I am confused if I should enroll under direct entry scheme or I should attempt cpt this december and attempt ipcc soon after my graduation. and also I wanted to know if one needs to do orientation program and ITT under direct scheme before commencing the 9 month articleship required for attempting IPCC

Dear Palak,
U should not opt direct entry scheme as u r already in BCOM so write cpt along with doing BCOM and take admission directly into ipcc.
u have to compete ITT and orientation before joining practical training in both the case
Hope your query is resolved

Palak, I'll suggest to get registered to CPT. By the time u clear ur CPT, u will also complete ur graduation, so after that, u can transfer urself to direct entry scheme( if u cleared ur graduation with 55% or above). The benefit of direct entry is that u will not wait to clear ur IPCC to get registered to Articleship training. And by registering to articles U'll get to learn much practical work. But there is one disadvantage too, that u'll not get time for coachin classes(if u wanna do) due to ur articles tenure, or u have to maintain the classes time as per ur office time.Under direct Entry u can do ur IT & OT training after registering to articles.
