What are the criteria to be fulfilled to open a branch office in INDIA by an entity registered abroad.

Is it necessary to have 3 years existance abroad before applying for approval with RBI.

Suggestions pls.

28 December 2008 I got the solution.. New notification is being released by RBI. According to new notification at least 5 year existance abroad is required before applying for opening BO in India...There are so many criterias to be fulfilled as per new notification..

The intention of such stringent restriction may be to avoid uncompetent entities entering India
