Registered shareholders are those shareholders whose name entered in the registered of members maintianed in the co. but as far as beneficial shareholders are concerned Shareholders on whom the benefit on those shares accrue.
For eg. NSDL/CSDL are registered shareholders in case of listed co. and the players who pays in the market like u and me are the beneficial shareholders.
