06 April 2011 Income tax returns can be filed after the due date till end of Next assessment year (e.g. for FY 2009-2010 i.e. AY 2010-11, last date is up to 31-March-2012)

If filed after 31.03.2011 penalty of Rs. 5000/- (Max) will be attracted u/s 271F.
