This query is : Resolved

27 November 2022 I was thinking because of some issues I am not able to finish my CA intermediate. So I was thinking to finish the ATC course and after that I will finish my CA course.

Please let me know is this possible?
Thanks in advance.

27 November 2022 I have already completed my 3 years articleship under direct entry scheme and also gave few attempts of ipcc.

12 July 2024 Yes, it is possible to pursue the Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS) - Advanced Information Technology (ATC) course even if you have not completed your CA Intermediate exams yet. Here’s how it typically works:

### ATC Course Overview:

1. **Purpose**: The ATC course is designed to impart advanced knowledge and skills in information technology and soft skills, which are crucial for a chartered accountant's professional development.

2. **Eligibility**: Generally, to enroll in the ATC course, you need to have cleared Group 1 of the CA Intermediate (or IPCC as per the previous terminology) and have commenced your articleship training.

3. **Independent of CA Intermediate Completion**: Unlike the CA Intermediate exams, which are mandatory to progress towards the final level of CA, the ATC course can be completed independently or concurrently with your CA Intermediate studies.

4. **Timeline**: You can start the ATC course at any point during your articleship period, provided you meet the eligibility criteria. The completion of ATC does not hinge on the completion of CA Intermediate exams.

### Advantages of Completing ATC:

- **Enhanced Skills**: ATC enhances your understanding of information technology, which is increasingly important in the accounting profession.

- **Flexibility**: Since ATC does not require completion of CA Intermediate, you can proceed with it while preparing or re-attempting your CA Intermediate exams.

### Practical Considerations:

- **Focus on CA Intermediate**: While pursuing ATC, ensure that you also dedicate sufficient time and effort towards clearing your CA Intermediate exams. Your ultimate goal remains to pass all levels of CA.

- **Consult ICAI Guidelines**: Always refer to the specific guidelines and requirements set by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) regarding the ATC course and its relationship with CA Intermediate.

### Conclusion:

By enrolling in and completing the ATC course, you can strengthen your skills in information technology and soft skills, which will complement your CA qualification. Ensure to manage your time effectively to balance both ATC and CA Intermediate studies to achieve your professional goals effectively.
