Articleship while working

This query is : Resolved

15 January 2014 Hi all,
Iam Shyam Sunder,MBA Finance graduate working in a UK BPO as accountant.

As iam a pg graduate so iam eligible to enter IPCC directly without doing CPT,Once i joined IPCC its mandatory to sign article ship with chartered account, due to the reason i have 3 years agreement with my company and i cannot quit from it to do article ship.

do we have any options or ideas to sign article ship without quit on my job.

15 January 2014 It would be better not to take direct entry route is you want to continue with your job.
See ,if you join CA through CPT & appear in IPCC groupwise then it will take around 1.5-2years.Yes ,it may extend your CA course duration but as you said that you can't leave your job for next 3years,so it will be better if you go through this way.And then after 1year join your articleship.

As per the norms of ICAI,you have to do mandatory training of 3years.
If you don't want to leave job then ICWA would be better option as your work exp. will be counted simultaneously.

15 January 2014 Hi Vijeta,

Thank you so much for your kind and immediate reply, as mentioned above that "work experience will be counted simultaneously"

Does that mean,
If i am a working candidate as accountant in any company don't i need signing article ship
with any chartered account separately.

15 January 2014 Shyam please read my reply again.I told this in context of ICWA course not for CA course.

In ICWA training is exempted if
Exemption from Practical Training

A student of the Institute who is working or has already worked in any of the recognized Organizations as given in Appendix A and in any of the recognized areas as given in Appendix B, can claim exemption from Practical Training by following the procedures given below:

Submission of Form T-3 to Directorate of Training and Placement of the Institute along with a DD for Rs. 2000/- drawn in favour of Institute of Cost Accountants of India payable at New Delhi.
The students whose applications are received & found eligible on or before 31st March will be eligible to appear for June Examination & 30th September will be eligible to appear for December Examinations.
A student can seek exemption from Practical Training immediately after joining the Intermediate course, or at any time during the course of studies subject to dates given in 3(ii) if he is otherwise eligible.

For more details go through this link for ICWA not CA

For CA you will have to register under a practising CA for your articleship & that is mandatory.Sooner or later you will have to leave your job for 3 years.

15 January 2014 thank you so much for the
clarity vijetha,

will join ca soon as you have mentioned
