i got Arrear Demand for ay 2008-2009 the amt is 69786 bt der is no further detail against which the demand has been raised. how wil i know why the demand has been raised please tell me the [procedure to chk the amt.

Try to reach to the root of the problem. If you can't trace it by going through your filed documents of the relevant year, contact the jurisdictional A O. He will provide you the calculation table or make the assessee known with the underlying reasons.
