About bill and ordinence

This query is : Resolved

02 October 2013 Dear sir/mamplz tell me What is the differencebetween bill and ordinance

02 October 2013 The difference can be understand:

1. When both houses of Parliament are not in session and there is need for urgent legislation, an Ordinance is issued which has the same effect as an Act. It requires to be approved by Parliament otherwise it lapses.

2. If Government wants the provisions of the ordinance to continue, it introduces it in the form of a Bill which must be passed by both Houses of Parliament. After receiving the Assent of the President, it becomes law but notification must be issued to bring it into effect from a specified date.

3. Notifications and circulars are issued by government under various Acts to clarify the provisions of law. There are provisions in the Act which specify that a particular Section shall come into force when notification is issued.

02 October 2013 Bill is a proposal to set a new law or bring amendments in the existing laws.
It is the first step to create an act in the legislative process.
A bill cannot become law unless it is approved by the legislation.

When a bill is approved by the Parliament and President, it is turned into an act.
Thus an act is a set of rules, regulation, law or statute approved by the Parliament and President of India.

Bill is an initial stage of an act. When bill is approved by the Parliament and President, it becomes an act.
