The Maharashtra government has announced a GST Amnesty Scheme to waive interest and penalties on pending liabilities for the fiscal years 2017 to 2020.     • The state anticipates around 1.14 lakh applications from taxpayers involved in GST disputes.
  3. Projected Recovery:
    • Based on past trends, about 20% of the disputed amount is expected to be recovered, translating to ₹5,500-6,000 crore.
    • Of this, approximately ₹2,700-3,000 crore will contribute to the state’s treasury, while the remainder will go to the Central government.
