TDS Rectification is getting rejected

06 July 2024 Hi,

While filing TDS for an under construction apartment, I had incorrectly mentioned two values
1. Total Property Value
2. Amount paid

In both these values, I missed out to remove the GST component. Based on these incorrect values, I got a notice for short payment and they have asked to pay the value along with the fine.

For this I had filed a rectification request but it keeps getting rejected with message -
" has not submitted/ attached with the mail required documents which are mandatory to file correction for 26QB to this office as on date. Hence, the application is hereby rejected. You are further requested to file a new correction form along with necessary documents.
Please file the online correction again and submit for approval."

This has happened twice and now I am not sure on what to do. Can someone provide guidance on what can be done?

At present the shortfall is about 2000 and the interest charged is about 400.

07 July 2024 If Total Amount Paid/Credit in Previous instalments is required to be updated, the correction request will require approval from Previous Seller (If known) and after that correction submitted will require approval AO approval. So file agreement copy along with correction request.

07 July 2024 The seller (builder in this case) has given the approval. The rejection is coming from the AO side. I had sent the details over to the AO's email but I had not recieved any confirmation from them. There was also no request from them asking for any additional documents


07 July 2024 AO has power to rectify the challan. It seems it is pending from that end. Either wait for AO approval, or follow up personally to speed it up.

07 July 2024 AO has rejected it. It has happened twice. I am not sure how to personelly connect with them.

What if I pay the extra amount and request builder to adjust the extra amount paid?
