This query is : Resolved

11 May 2013 Dear Sir,

Employees who have not PAN NOS. then how much % we have to deduct the TDS (TDS on salary) , its salary Rs.4,00,000/-(its comes in Table wise tax?? or any other tax calculation)

Please advise

Regards,

Malcome

11 May 2013 In this case tax should be deducted at 20% as the assesee has not furnished PAN.

General rule for deduction of Tax in case of non availability of PAN is as follows:

Deduct higher of following:

(i) at the rate specified in the relevant provision of this Act; or

(ii) at the rate or rates in force; or

(iii) at the rate of twenty per cent.

In this case it will be 20%.

13 May 2013 TDS on Salary – Employees not having PAN nos. we have to deduct Tds 20%, but on which amount we have to deduct 20%, Gross Value paid? OR Value after deducting 80CCE, 80CCG, VI-A (OTHER)?? Kindly advise the same.
Regards,
Malcome
